ALLONS VOTER!

In 2012, 60% French expats did not vote at the presidential election, and 80% at the parliamentary election. French expats can change the course of the upcoming French parliamentary elections. There are between 2 and 2.5 million French expats, representing 3% of all voters. Elections have been won across the world with a smaller margin.

In 2017, fearing the results of the presidential election, we created a collective of French expatriate volunteers. We were not affiliated with any political movements or parties. Our goal was to fight against French expatriate abstention. We encouraged French expats to come to the consulate as soon as possible to complete a proxy ("procuration") as that is their only way to vote if they are not registered to vote abroad on D-Day.  We also wanted to close the information gap about the preparation needed to be ready to vote on election day.

The results came in: participation rate amongst French expats for the second round increased from 42,18% in 2012 to 45,84% in 2017, while national participation decreased from 80,35% in 2012 to 74,56% in 2017!

In this project, I was in charge of the branding and the graphic design, producing videos and images. I also helped with marketing and the fundraising effort.
