THE CHAIR |Yellow Hammock
The design of this lounge chair was the result of two ambitions: creating a comfortable chair and learning how to weld and sew. The concept of a hybrid between a hammock and a chair was greatly influenced by the Butterfly chair designed by Hardoy, Kurchan and Bonet in 1938 after visiting Le Corbusier’s office in Paris. The chair is built out of ¾”tubular steel rods and a piece of sewed canvas. Going into production, the chair could easily work with different types of fabric or leather. The steel frame could also be powder-coated.
